North Country Public Safety Foundation - 1st Annual Awards Dinner
The North Country Public Safety Foundation held its first annual awards
dinner on Friday, October 24th at the Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton
Woods.
The memorable event included a keynote speech by Attorney
General Kelly Ayotte who thanked the Foundation for being there
to serve those who serve others, often putting themselves at risk.
The
Foundation also named the recipients of the first annual Public
Safety Officer of the Year Award, which is awarded to a law enforcement
officer, a firefighter and an EMT/Search and Rescue member who each have
made a significant difference in the quality of life and public safety
in the North Country over a long period.
Recipients were Jack Anderson
of Bethlehem for Firefighter of the Year, William Mead of Franconia
for Emergency Medical Service Provider of the Year, and Chief
Doug Moorhead of Woodstock for Law Enforcement Officer of the
Year.
The event
was an overwhelming success, selling out with 300 in attendance.
